Tamarai - Bar Night Club in Convent Garden London

Tamarai
167 Drury Lane, in Convent Garden, West End
Lonodn, WC2

This glittering bar-restaurant-club hybrid is a self-consciously glam affair, designed to be a beacon for London's pretty people. This means an exotic look with lots of dark wood, rich colours and moody lighting all topped of with smooth sounds supplied by an in-house DJ.

The drinks list is impressive, one of the best cocktail and wine lists you'll see in a venue of this kind in London. The name Tamarai is an adaptation of the Tamil word for 'lotus' and the Asian influences are further reflected in the reputedly very good food, but this is a place better suited for lively nights rather than long lingering dinners. The crowd is as fashionable, moneyed and style-aware as you’d expect.

  1. I came across this restaurant on Book a table, have to say I had an awesome evening. Good food followed by a few drinks followed by an excellent night out thanks to the great music played by the DJ. Definitely recommended.
